"Cruickshank really helped Avison Lumber Company with mapping and valuation of potential timber sale purchases. Over a five year period and 75 million board feet of timber purchase, his timber sale volume estimates never deviated more than five percent from the actual volume that we cut out of the sale.

Cruickshank’s procurement initiatives were pivotal in making the process more accurate while others dealt with assuring private timber sources for the company currently and in the future. His knowledge, work ethic, people skills and problem solving abilities helped Avison be more profitable. "

"I hired LPM to get advice on logging some recently purchased dedicated forest land. Their mapping, sampling, tree marking, valuation and logging plan were accurate and well done. LPM made sure the woods looked good upon completion of the harvest and left me with a healthy forest for the next rotation.

LPM also found us niche lumber markets that we utilized to generate revenue from our personal sawmill. LPM came up with some high dollar specialty products that made more money sawing the log than selling it. It is good to see activity in the old mill again. Thanks LPM."

"My wife and I recently bought a large parcel of property in Sullivan County New York and we were immediately confronted with concerns and decisions about how best to maximize our enjoyment of the property while preserving it for generations to come. We were immediately impressed by the knowledge, skill and vision of James Cruickshank and retained LPM to help us identify and establish our goals and objectives for the property. As part of that process LPM did an in depth analysis and assessment of the competing opportunities that the property had to offer including timber, recreational, rental and or alternate revenue generating potential. Further, LPM produced impressive plans for cost cutting maintenance, tax saving and tax deferring strategies that focused on significantly reducing those economic burdens.

Through Mr. Cruickshank we learned that one can objectify and implement short and long term plans for a property by simply exploring goals that we envisioned for the property. By defining the goals, LPM helped us promote our vision and achieve both environmental and financial security for the property. By generating revenue from timber harvests, LPM was able to improve the roads within the holding, improve the aesthetics of the forested areas and benefit wildlife habitat which is abundant there. The timber stand thinning on the property has created more sunlight exposure on the forest floor producing the desired growth of more flora, ferns and grasses that enhance the natural beauty of the parcel. James’ strategies for pruning vegetation and trees around buildings and ponds greatly improved the appeal of the property and the overall property value as well.

James Cruickshank and LPM presented us with a number of sophisticated plans to generate revenue from the property while reducing annual costs for the holding. We now exclusively use LPM for all maintenance and monitoring of the holding and continue to be thrilled with the results as we watch our goals and dreams flourish."

"I worked with Cruickshank on a high end interior restoration in 2004. The plans for the home included increasing the kitchen square footage by expanding the room into the garage and subsequent kitchen upgrades encompassing appliances, pocket doors, tile work, wall panels, columns with arches and other custom cabinetry and detail work. Plans for the den and living room included a new fire place mantle with multiple reveals and features, large decretive crown molding, multiple step window/door/base moldings and a glass paneled entry feature.

The client had very high standards relating to the quality of the finished work and the production schedule. Cruickshank’s excellent work ethic along with his home improvement knowledge enabled him to solve many of the problems through out the project, in a timely and advantageous manner. His application of traditional carpentry methods, to historic and green building materials, produced excellent finished results. His ability to work with and complete multiple step moldings, mantles and other intricate room features made him a huge asset on the project."
